Jo Samuels

Jo Samuels is a singer/songwriter from Manchester, UK, performing globally as far and wide as Sydney, Australia.

Jo says, "I transmit passion through my own music or remixes, and my vocal performance is dynamic, creating a feel-good vibe. I made my debut with my own music at Sziget Festival, Magic Mirror stage, I’ve also enjoyed collaborating with DJs and producers. I’m euphoric to be releasing singles off my first solo album 'Otherside’. I’ve released my first single 'Pictures'. It's electro synth wave, layered with melodic vocals and storytelling lyrics. My back catalogue includes a song written for the Olympic German beach volleyball team documentary ‘The Road to Tokyo - The Heat is On’. I was formally in bands, but the time seemed right to feel empowered on creating a solo album full of light and shade. I love what I do, and I’m keeping the dream alive!"

Review:
"She sings with utmost confidence... sassy, strident vocal... layers of delicious falsetto... melodically engaging" - Kerrang.

Nikk Mager

Nikk Mager is a Yorkshire-born solo pop artist who rose to fame through his appearance on ‘Popstars: The Rivals’ and the subsequent creation of the boyband 'Phixx'.

Nikk Mager began his singing career auditioning on the ITV talent contest. His success at auditions saw him advance all the way to the final 10, and despite not making the final group 'One True Voice', he was snapped up to be a member of the boy band, Phixx.

Nikk was an integral part of Phixx’s success with four successful top 20 singles and international success following suit. Their tour of South Africa was popular with their debut album breaking album records in the sub-African state. Along with this success, Phixx toured with the likes of Liberty X and Blue.

Nikk struck out on his own in 2006 and has been much in demand ever since. He performed as the lead vocalist with The Chippendales and performed as lead singer on the UK tour of ‘Here Come the Boys’. From there, he has performed throughout the UK and Europe and developed a professional manner, making him a pleasure to work with. His solo career keeps going from strength to strength, and he is a star worth keeping an eye on.

A Nikk Mager performance carries the pedigree of his success with a show unlike any other. Nikk is a crowd pleaser and impressive entertainer.

Pete Monsoon

Returning to remix Calderdale Pride, we cant wait to see Pete to bring the party and rock The Piece Hall again!

Yorkshire 'Pete Monsoon' followed his dream of becoming a DJ from the age of 10. A dream that would see him go onto perform around the world!

Starting from playing 7inch singles in his bedroom on a basic record deck with a built in speaker, he was gifted his neighbour's record deck of the same make, so he could start playing records over two decks.

After a couple of years of obsessing over DJ’ing, Breakdancing, Rapping & Graffiti (aged just 14), Pete upgraded his equipment to a system with turntables that which he paid off weekly from his pocket money.

Soon after, Pete was inspired to recreate the scratching sounds and techniques he had heard from records such as Herby Hancock’s ‘Rocket’, Arthur Bakers ‘Breakers Revenge’, and his home town legend ‘3 Jaze’.

Pete's first big break came when he was in June 1990 (aged 17), when his friend set up his own Rave night in Huddersfield called Forbidden Zone @ Venn Street. He was added to the flyer under his Graffiti / Tag name at the time ‘Creator’ and played alongside DJ’s Paul Oakenfold, Paul Trouble Anderson, Chad Jackson and T.O.N.Y (from the Hacienda).

Building on his success, Pete went onto DJ nationally and internationally and played shows on various radio stations.

An open-minded music lover and a versatile DJ, Pete has played a vast selection of musical styles in his career, from Trance, Techno, Funk, Hip Hop; to UK, Italian, Funky, Piano and Electro House.

Pete has been producing and remixing records since 1991, with labels such as Fulcrum, Hamster and FFRR records.

A lover of creating bootleg mash-ups with an Old Skool feel, Pete has gone on to remix releases for Ministry of Sound, Clubland, Data and All Around the World records to name a few.
