Queerfest 2023 Acts

In association with Darkland Brewery we are holding our 2nd mini festival which was a huge success last year!

We are keeping pre-booked tickets at £10 per person, but it will be £15 on the door if you don’t pre-book. This is a fundraiser where all funds go towards Calderdale Pride! https://calderdalepride.sumupstore.com/product/queerfest-ticket-early-bird

?ndecision

Our headline act are the AMAZING ?ndecision who closed the day with a BANG!

They are a 5 piece covers band from Halifax, who have been together for 10 years. They have performed at many a local club and pub around West Yorkshire and are looking forward to playing all of your favourites to get you up and dancing!

Todd Wilson

Todd performed at last years event and blew us away so much we have asked him to perform at Calderdale Pride on the Main Stage, but not before another blast at Queerfest!

Todd has been entertaining his whole life and has been performing this act for over ten years all over the UK and even playing gigs on the continent.

He plays a wide range of music singing songs from a variety of decades. He loves bands like James, erasure and Queen as well as artists like Adele, Frank Sinatra and Bruce Springsteen. With Yorkshire patter and a crooked smile there’s sure to be something you can sing or dance along to!

Chris Kelly

Chris Kelly was born and raised in Greengates Bradford and moved over to fabulous Brighouse, Calderdale. Chris is obsessed with music and can’t go anywhere without it and can be often found singing away in a local karaoke bar!

He is a big fan of the divas and gay icons such as Whitney, Mariah, Celine. Chris also speaks French and Spanish and is quite partial to a bit of Edith Piaf and Shakira, too!

He loves being a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, and so you don’t have to ask him twice to attend or take part in a queer event!

Anthony-Max

Anthony-Max was born in Halifax and has been singing his whole life. Music is his favourite hobby, as he finds it a great way to express himself.

Anthony came out as bi 6 years ago and trans 5 years ago, and although his journey has been far from smooth, Anthony is incredibly proud of who he is and also incredibly proud of his community.

Anthony is also a Diversity Ambassador within the College he attends and loves using his voice to spread a message of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion for all - a subject Anthony feels incredibly passionate about.

Catstranglers

The Catstranglers are a local band who are regularly seen in local pubs around Calderdale.

They are a covers band with a twist and performed for us at last years Queerfest! We can’t wait to see them back

Wonkypuss

Wonkypuss are a tragicomic acoustic twee punk duo. A boisterous sometimes-sensitive-but-always scrappy mess. If you play things fast enough everything works out in the end

Jude Robson

Hailing from the North East, Jude Robson is a natural born entertainer. Aged 21, Jude is no stranger to treading the boards, having spent many years studying performing arts and performing in various theatres - even getting to perform for (and meeting) 'William and Kate' - the Prince and Princess of Wales. Judes love of swing music saw him bring the sounds of Sinatra, Dean Martin and Bobby Darin to the Queerfest stage in 2022 ....and he will be back, this year, with another knockout performance.

Greaves & Gardziel

'Greaves & Gardziel' is a fusion of Andy Greaves (Tragics, Ghost Scool etc) and Ruth Gardziel (Fevertrees, Zefr etc.) doing country bluesy covers. With (hopefully!) Georgie Kirby (Dupree) joining us as a special guest singer.

Davina Regina

Davina Regina was the winner of Calderdale Pride’s Got Talent 2022 and took to the main stage at Calderdale Pride in The Piece Hall last August.

They absolutely blew us away with amazing guitar skills and original / cover songs.

As an established solo performer, Davina has been entertaining for over 40 years and will be bringing new band 'Davina Regina and the Flying Handbags' to the Pallet Bar stage, at Queerfest, on Saturday July 22nd!
